Frequently asked questions

The questions we actually get asked, answered without hedging. If yours is not here, the methodology and privacy pages go deeper.

01

Do I need an account to take a test?

No. There is no signup, no email form and no login anywhere on this site. You open a test, answer the questions, and see the result. Nothing you do here is tied to an identity.

02

Is it really free?

Yes. Every test and every result is free, in full. There is no premium tier holding back part of your profile. The site is paid for by display advertising and optional donations.

03

Why did I get a different result the second time?

The usual reason is that your score was close to the middle on one scale, so a couple of answers landing differently flipped the letter. Mood, context, and answering as your aspirational self rather than your actual behaviour can all do it too. We wrote a full explanation of the five common reasons.

04

How accurate is the MBTI test?

MBTI is a widely used but widely criticised instrument. It is built on types rather than continuous traits, and a substantial share of people get a different code on a retest. Trait models such as the Big Five have stronger psychometric support. We offer MBTI because it is a useful shared vocabulary, not because it is a definitive measurement — and we list the criticisms on our methodology page rather than hiding them.

05

Do you store my answers or my result?

Your answers are scored in your own browser and are not kept. We count anonymous page views and test completions using a random identifier stored in your browser, so we can see that a test was taken without knowing who took it. We do not store IP addresses with your activity, and we have no personal profile to look up.

06

Can you tell me what my result means for my relationship or my career?

Each type page describes how that type commonly shows up at work and in relationships, and the AI reading after a test goes into more detail. But these are patterns, not instructions. Your type cannot tell you whether to take a job, leave a relationship, or hire someone.

07

Is the tarot section a prediction of my future?

No, and we do not present it as one. Tarot card meanings are cultural conventions built up over about two centuries, and the readings are a structured way to look at a question you already have. Tarot is not a method for foretelling events, and nothing here should be used to make medical, legal or financial decisions.

08

Which AI model writes the long interpretation after a test?

The elaboration is written by an AI model, working from your scored result. Importantly, the model does not decide your type — scoring is fixed arithmetic in your browser, and the same answers always produce the same result. The AI writes the explanation, not the verdict.

09

Are the card images yours?

No. They are the original Rider-Waite-Smith deck published in 1909, whose artwork is in the public domain. We use the public-domain scans rather than redrawing or recolouring them.

10

What is the difference between this site and www.verityrank.com?

They are separate projects that share a name. This site (me.verityrank.com) offers the free personality tests and tarot library. The main site is a researched directory of manufacturers and brands across 213 industries. Neither one is a funnel for the other.

11

I found a mistake. How do I report it?

Use the contact link in the site footer and include the URL. We would rather publish a correction than defend a mistake, and we update the review date at the top of a page when we change something substantive.

12

Can I use these tests with a group, class or team?

Yes — the tests are free and need no account, so there is nothing to license. We would ask only that you do not present the results as a clinical assessment of anyone in the group.

13

🧭Still curious?

Our methodology page explains what each test measures and its known limits. Why results change covers the retest question in full, and Privacy sets out exactly what is and is not stored.
